why no pics in AH?

    just wondering why your not allowed to post pictures in AH?

    most people have broadband these days so it doesent take a hour to load a page..

    Also, regarding youtube vids being allowed. Well, youtube moderates its content, anything OTT is deleted pretty quickly. This prevents people posting OTT vids on this site.

    However, given you could like pics from any site, of basically anything, the two aren't really comparable.

    I can understand why they said no, and would have to deal with more **** than them, so it's a no from me.

    Now, let me ask "Why pics in AH?".
    The cool pictures, etc. sub-forum allows IMG posting. Funny pictures can go there. For the occasional perfectly-timed picture reply in an AH thread, there'd be a million more that are just spammy and get in the way of discussion, and AH is all about the discussion...

    Well from that point of view, then why are Youtube videos allowed, as Rb said above they are moderated content, but don't they stop the flow of conversation / discussion going on in a thread?

    You don't have to watch a video but you cannot un-see an image.
    Besides the youtubes videos are all same size so doesn't break the thread much whereas images can be any size.

    Sometimes pics are funny, lots of times just annoying and, yes -we've seen it before. Example

    As much as I love AH & respect the mods I would abuse it with pictures well too much if it was aloud. I can see why it isn't tbh. Me, Mirror & Sherifu would have a field day! I could even see Cushion being led astray too :p

    YouTube videos are usually on/about the subject and in context, or the subject of a discussion. Pictures are more often used as a replacement for 'wit' and discussion.

    Trolls can still use their sigs in ah for the lovely pictures they use.
    It's handy as ah modereators, whoever they are, would have to delete pictures all the time.
